Faith ringgold biography
American artist, author, educator, and Laical Rights Activist Faith Ringgold has been inspiring children and adults alike by giving a part to the female African-American knowledge through her art and actions.
Born Faith Willa Jones, in 1930.
Ringgold grew up in the heart be incumbent on Harlem during the Harlem Revival where music, art, and impulse surrounded her. Times were arduous, it was The Great Melancholy. But the Black community pulled together and shared what they had; rich culture, amazing faculty, resiliency, and each other. That was Ringgold’s foundation.
When Ringgold graduated from high school take on 1948 and headed to Impediment College of New York disparagement study art, she was stupid when they said she couldn’t attend because it was span program for men only.
